Senior Service Club - Supporting Those Who Support Us
This week marked a proud and rewarding milestone for the Type 22 Association as we presented our first charitable cheque, for £250, to the Senior Service Club in Leicester. A small group of Association committee members had the privilege of handing over the cheque in person, accompanied by photographs that capture the spirit of the moment.
The donation was made as a heartfelt thank you for the time, effort, and generosity shown by the Senior Service Club in helping make our last reunion such a memorable and successful evening. Their support helped bring shipmates together, strengthening the bonds that define who we are.
This presentation also reflects something important: where your Association subscriptions go, and why. Membership subs are not simply administrative — they are reinvested directly into our community. They help fund reunions, support venues and organisations that look after serving and former naval personnel, and allow us to give something back to those who quietly and consistently support the naval family.
As the Association grows, so too does our ability to make a positive difference, however modest. This first cheque represents the beginning of a commitment to gratitude, remembrance, and mutual support.
Thank you to all members — your support makes moments like this possible.
